Vehicle engineering is founded to meet the needs of national construction and economic development, which mainly focuses on fast,efficient and safe vehicles, including highways and railroads transport vehicles. This major is committed to cultivating the high-quality engineers with basic theory of vehicle engineering and professional skills, who are able to work in the field of vehicle engineering in design, manufacture, application, maintenance and management.After about 5 years of practice, the graduates have the quality and ability to put forward an effective solution to the technical problems of vehicle design, manufacture, maintain and so on.
Vehicle engineering is a pilot major of excellence program initiated by the State Ministry of Education, which is divided into three directions: Rail Vehicle, Electric Multiple Units (EMU) and Automobile. In 2017, this major ranked first in the comprehensive evaluation of vehicle engineering in Jiangxi Province.
